Frequently Asked Questions
What is this website about?
It is a local guide to Caddo Heights and South Highlands in Shreveport, Louisiana. The blogs cover elementary, middle and high schools, plus tips for homeowners who need tree care.
Where are Caddo Heights and South Highlands?
They sit about 10 minutes south of downtown Shreveport in Caddo Parish. The area is known for older homes, tree-lined streets and a historic district platted in 1912.
How do I choose a school for my child?
Start by confirming your school zone with Caddo Public Schools, then tour your top choices. The school guides on the Blogs page list questions to ask and enrollment steps for each grade level.
What is the difference between magnet and neighborhood schools?
A neighborhood school takes students who live in its zone. A magnet school has a special focus and admits students by application or lottery, so apply early and list a backup choice.
How can I suggest a place or report a correction?
Use the form on the Contact Us page. Include the school or place name and what you would like us to add or fix, and we will review it. Ratings, zones and hours change, so confirm details with the district.
